Qualify Your Network

As it is the case with most IP Cloud Hosted Telephony providers, the quality of service, and audio quality of any system you place will largely depend on your network (customer premise). Items that could largely affect the quality of service of your hosted service could be.

  • Your bandwidth (upstream and downstream)
  • The quality of your infrastructure (switching, routing and cabling)
  • Whether or not your router has been optimized and prioritized for port 5060 (SIP)
  • Whether or not your switch has been optimized for CoS and QoS and prioritized for port 5060
  • Whether or not you have daisy chained your switches (connected 1 switch to another in order to achieve a higher port density – as opposed to adding drops from the switch)
  • Whether or not you have a business class Antivirus loaded and up to date on every node and every server
  • Whether or not the switches that are in place are Layer 3 switches that are able of handling prioritization, VLAN or other protocols that may be needed to further isolate the Network

Of course, there are so many items that can affect the sanctity and quality of a Network, like bandwidth availability as a result of a virus, Trojan or other items that could possibly consume the bandwidth. Even one or more users that are streaming video or sending or receiving large files, can possibly affect the quality of your network (and thus the quality of service of your voice Network)

The process below is a real time test that will allow us to better understand your premise and though not 100% conclusive, will give us a holistic view into your Network, so that we can make further clarify the infrastructure and better determine what needs improvements (if any)
